Social Skills

Our therapists provide individual and group therapy to improve your child’s social skills at home, school, and in the community.

Social skills are a higher-level way to practice using a variety of language skills. It is important for children to be able to understand and use verbal and nonverbal communication with children and adults appropriately in a variety of settings (home, school, community). Some specific skills that are targeted include using language for a variety of pragmatic functions (greeting, requesting, commenting), turn taking, and understanding different perspectives.
